I'll be here and there, I'm at work, but I usually have more social interaction at work than I'm currently having, and it's driving me insane. LOL Brian and I got back from Metrocon yesterday and we're packing again for a plane ride tomorrow morning. Our place is such a mess!
We are terribly looking forward to a whole week in sunny San Diego - and of course Comic Con! Hope to see a lot of you guys there! I'm bringing a couple of super simple costumes to walk around in on only TWO of the FOUR days. Also being stuffed into a secret costume for a TV show this weekend (you'll never guess what lol! Those who know... shhhh...) so it should be a blast! The rest of the time I want to be able to really scour the exhibit hall, hang out, look for celebs and generally enjoy a vacation for once.
We've already RSVPd to four parties and I am sure there will be others to hit up. Gosh, have to remember to pack foam insoles... and painkillers!

Ok so yea i might as well as make the "world coming to an end post". BUT you get what you deserve, USA is the spoiled child of the world, where it grew up in a happy go lucky world where it was the center of attention and had money to spend on things like Hanna Montanna backpacks, stickers, tshirts, socks, glasses, dental floss, pencils, pens, dildos, videos, CDs, concert tickets, wigs. Mommy and Daddy came and payed the bills. As the child grew it thought that i would never find trouble until it decided to mouth off to it's parents and move out.
Once the tit of finance was upon it it found out that "holy shit i need to pay back my loans" but because it is the child that found his parent's gun and thus in-charge it still can't do no wrong eventhough we are slowly going into a depression
YEA I SAID IT!!! economists need to get off their scaired asses and say it already.
First the problem. people are making what they used to
Second Fuel and Food are costing more.
see now this is alot but as i said we are spoiled.
We need to move our economy from the spendthrift cheerleader teenager to the more mature adult. Stop waisting food and going to places that stamp food into your plate (i am tired of the USA cookie cutter way) I dream of a time where the person running the restruant is the chef who cooked in the kitchen until he was able to leave the house and knows how to turn 1.50 worth of ingredents into the Momocon Chilli for 40 people (ok it was more then that but you get the idea)
BIG BUSINESS is dieing and i say good for it. WE pay $1.00 freeking doller for a 32oz bottle of water, when i was in Italy i paid .18 cents (with money transfer about .25 american cents...yes a QUARTER) for 2 Liters of bottled water (yes for the price of a quarter i baught a freeking SODA bottle's worth of WARTER!! this is what we should have.
We should strive for things built out of love and labor not handstamped in factories. and we should demand more for our money...cause damn it we are working hard for it!
Yes i used my stimulus check for something to stimulate the economy....i bought something... something for cosplay.... something that helped my good bro's business and not to Corporate America but back to American America the hard working people that built this country (atleast spirtually)

I am sooooo not gonna have hair after this week sigh.
I am gearing up for IFDC in Vegas, yeah yeah I keep saying that sorry it's what's on my mind right now.
I have to clear/gross a ton of money.
I am currently over at my friends sewing like a fiend and took a moment to sit and check mail and type.
I am working on Kimono dresses, tops, kimono, rococo gowns, cloaks, and some various odds and ends.
My house ate a whole bag of dollie blankets I had cut out and I 've looked but cannot for the life of me found them.
The house did spit up the blue cloth I could'nt find before so I guess I have a trade off grrrrr.
We worked more on the basement.
Not really time I had to take out of my sewing but I needed to help with it.
Now all that is left is some organization of the areas where I will be working and some things put up on Ebay to clear the last shelf down there and we will be good to go.
Is it wrong that C's organizing system bothers me?
LOL
I am anal about having everything in a place that is set aside for it so that I can find things easily.
He's got stuff in random boxes and bags and bottles kind of shoved into order near his work area, it's organized for him but um....shakes head.
I have one week to get ready.
I am looking forward to this but sheeesh.

This morning, I saw a moving crew hard at work. There was a moving truck driving down the highway, with the back open so you could see what was being moved. The side of the truck had "Eviction Services" boldly printed, with the slogan "If you don't pay, you can't stay" proudly displayed. Within the truck was a single, rather large, emerald green sofa. It looked very comfy. It must have been, because there was a guy still sleeping on said couch, and he looked quite comfortable. I guess they didn't bother waking him when they were hired to evict him from his residence, eh? ::grins::

So I didn't think I'd find myself on the bandwagon, but I simply had to watch it at least once. And you know what? You do too. It's far better than I expected. Act I is slow to start, but it sucked me in. I definitely recommend it if you like goofy things, musicals, mad science, and various other fun things! It's incredibly well written, which I wasn't expecting for some reason (hey, I read the "what is this" stuff AFTER watching the movie, so sue me). The harmonies, the lyrics and how they sync up... sure, it's cheese, but it's GOOD cheese: maybe a really nice imported swiss, or brie or something.
I was really impressed by Dr. Horrible (ooh, link in case you have issues with the clicky image). Hopefully you guys won't be disappointed. But warning, it's only up for another... 23 hours or so? I don't know what time zone they're working off of. And I quote: "All acts will stay up until midnight Sunday July 20th. Then they will vanish into the night, like a phantom (but not THE Phantom – that’s still playing. Like, everywhere.)" So watch it while you can! Because after all, you may not think you'll like it... but you may be wrong. Wouldn't you rather watch it and KNOW, than miss it and never know? I know most of my friends are like me... they want to get a taste of something to know they like it before they're willing to spend MONEY on it.
As a note, I really don't know if I'll buy it on itunes when it comes out, but that's mostly because I hardly even know how iTunes works, and I don't want to lose it if my iPod runs out of space and I decide to delete it. I'm not a big fan of buying something a second time. In the end, it WILL be available on DVD eventually. I can tell you now, I will be buying that. XD Enjoy! And chatter. Well yesterday i had to toast and take a shot to all the powers that be above and below for the day i had.
Yesterday i went out to White Water with Jen and we had a spectacular day of fun in the sun (thanks be to the creators of sunblock for without them i would be red now)we road the rides and she made me go on Tornado (ok so you go down a tube around and then it drops you....litterly. into a cone so you feel free fall ((something i hate)) and then it rocks you back and forth till you come out the end) very fun and adrenaline rushing.....never going on it again but it was an experience. I told her about my other half and she expressed that she couldn't date a guy (actually i spent some time explaining that it was ok and how i was straight) that was like me. So as Raven said i should follow my heart but not lose myself over it.
But then it didn't really hurt all that much...in fact i almost felt kinda relieved (for some reason i felt it would happen like this so i didn't get my hopes up at all so...yea) NOW i have a very good friend in Jen who i can go see movies with and go out to dinner and White Water and know that we will only "just be friends"
So now as you may be reading....Single Lander = mopy Lander.
To this i say not so, i am having fun in college and life is good.
But then something made me think about that. I feel there is someone whom i care for who has always cared about me, and i feel i need to tell her how i feel... hopefully patches have been made and hopefully things are how i feel and not just emotional urges.

Brian and I are leaving for Metrocon in a couple of days! We can't wait to see our FL friends again. SO MUCH LOVE TO YOU GUYS!!!!
I have to plaster this everywhere, since Metro is awesome enough to give me advanced notice of my schedule for the weekend!
I will be hosting two Cosplay themed panels!
The first one is on Friday July 18th, 2pm, in Guest Track Room 15/16: Do's and Don'ts of Cosplay

Aside from these panels, I will also be judging the costume contest on Saturday which was fabulous last year so I really look forward to it!

This year was a damn whirlwind. I apologize to anyone I had to blow off because of our booth being insane or because I was running around trying to make it to appointments. I really felt like a loser on the social side of things at this AX. I am really sorry for being so out of it for most of the weekend. I planned 5 outfits (after wanting to take it easy, figures...) before realizing how understaffed we would be in the exhibitor hall, and I was dead tired every night and didn't get to hang out with some friends like I wanted to.
The ones I did catch up with were awesome to see, such as our group on Thursday night at Safari Sam's for a rockabilly event including a pin up fashion show and a burlesque show Masuimi Max put on. It was a lot of fun to dress up together and see some beautiful women and cute dresses on stage. I love how each girl is wearing a different style lol
On Friday I met up with my friend Heidi to be twin Felicia kitties! I love her Felicia and it was really cool to wear our costumes together. I brought the pink wig I styled for TNT so we matched really well *cotten candy hair lol*. The reaction we received was phenomenal. We were basically stuck in one spot for a couple of hours posing for photos which was convenient until we needed a break and a place to sit down. Damien became the kitty handler, which we both were very grateful for.

I finished the day at the booth and then we met up with a bunch of people in Little Tockyo to find an open restaurant (4th of July, lots of closed businesses). It was nice to stuff my face with sushi :D.
On Saturday, after making sure the booth was in good shape, I changed into a new costume I made - Misty May from "Otaku no Video"! For those who are not familiar with this classic anime, it was made by Gainax in 1985 and Misty May was the mascot magical girl character. BOME recently came out with a figure of her which I snatched up like woah, and used as my main reference. I got everything including the staff done in about 12 hours, except for the bunny ears which I borrowed from Barb's stock. Surprisingly a lot of people did recognize me, which was awesome! Thank you Oscar for snapping some shots of this outfit for me, I really appreciate it! <3

In the late afternoon began the epic quest to gather our Ranma cosplay group together. I have been wanting to do this for over a year now and I must thank everyone who pulled a costume together for this. As a huge Ranma 1/2 fan since my early teens, it was a true geek dream come true. From left to right: Hanime as Azusa, Steph as Akane, The Mighty Jinyo as Ranma, Barb as Ranma, Victoria as Kodachi, me as Shampoo, and Shaun as Mousse.
I actually will make a separate post with just Ranma pics because we took so many hilarious photos, so for now just a couple of Shampoo and Mousse due shots.
I agonized for a long time over which of Shampoo's costumes to make, but after considering how hot it would be in July, I chose this cute outfit for the time being. Now that I style the wig, I definitely will make at least 2 - 3 more of her costumes in the future, oooh yeah. Btw, burned a hole in my leg with hot glue while making those damn hair balls. Nice.

Everything I brought to AX was way old school lol, with Sunday being no exception. In the morning I did an J Fashion shoot for a magazine, so by the time I met up with my girls for our Sailor Senshi group, I still had goth makeup on XD. I had made Eternal Sailor Mars for TNT a couple of months ago, then Hannah, Steph and Joie were all going to have Eternal costumes for AX so it only made sense to join them! This is totally my first time ever cosplaying from Sailor Moon lol.

The rest of the day was tearing down the booth, going to Hollywood to eat dinner, and chilling out at Jinyo's (where I promptly fell asleep). On Monday I did a photoshoot with Geoffrey Nicholson in my Felicia costume (more stories on that later lol) and then we randomly decided to ask Jinyo/Victoria if they wanted to go to Disneyland on Tuesday. They were up for it awesomely, and thanks to Vic's grandma, we even got in for free wow. We stayed the whole day until the park closed at midnight and had such a kickass fun time! It was so nice to relax for a couple of days after AX with friends.
On Wed. we reluctantly drove home and I've been vegging out since. Jinyo let us borrow the first season of "Dexter" which is crazy awesome and addictive. We love it! More from me after this weekend - I can't wait to post all those cute Ranma pics eeeeeeeeeeep! <3333

Okay, I've gotten away from the sponsored posting and stuff, and I want to let you know right now that this isn't one. Someone let me know about this really important bit of advice with regards to tires, and I'm passing it on to everyone I know. This could save LIVES, for real, not just those crazy "email this to everyone you know" kind of save lives, either. It may not even effect you, but it's good to know, so please look into it.

Basically, it's about tires and how they do not have an expiration date. The brand new tires I just bought, for example, could be 10 years old for all I know. And if they are old, the rubber starts to get like an old rubber band. You know the kind, the kind that stretch and break, but don't actually SNAP when you pull them out of the drawer and try to use them. The treads could come off of your tire, and cause you to get into an accident. So watch the video, be informed, and check your own tires to make sure they aren't too old. The video shows you how. So I drive by the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center every day on my way to and from work. I only ever notice it on the way home, really. Or at least, that's the only time I read the sign. And for the past two weeks, I have been absolutely enthralled by this sign, stuck in 0-5 mph traffic, urging it to change to the ONE ad I want to actually get a better look at. I finally caved, and with the little information I had, researched a bit online. The Atlanta Ballet will be performing Bram Stoker’s Dracula in February of 2009. Let me repeat this, so you can soak it in: there is a ballet of Dracula. ::swoon:: Okay, I totally want to see this. I feel lame that if I see this, it will probably be my first (maybe second if Joel can take me to see the Nutcracker--which I'm dying to see--first) ballet ever. Guh. Culture and geekiness, let me absorb you.
Yea... that's so epic it needs its own post. I'll update later today, or this weekend or something, with more interesting tidbits.
